The redesigned Hyundai Santa Fe is getting closer to your local Hyundai dealer, and now all the details have gone public. Hyundai is revealing the Santa Fe XRT at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show and also confirmed some powertrain details. You can expect to see the gasoline-only Santa Fe at dealers in March, with the hybrid version suggested sometime in spring.

Standard power for the Santa FE comes from a turbocharged 2.5-liter I4. This four-cylinder engine sends 277 hp and 311 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed wet DCT to the front or to the all-wheel-drive system.

Hyundai is also offering a hybrid powertrain for the ’24 Santa Fe featuring a 1.6-liter I4 that works with Hyundai’s six-speed automatic and hybrid system to send 232 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque to the wheels. If you’re curious about fuel economy, those numbers should come closer to the Santa Fe’s launch.

While this powertrain info is important, it’s not the only Sante Fe news. Hyundai also showed off the 2024 Santa Fe XRT, a trim variant that is available on the current Santa Fe and now will transition to the next-gen model.

This Santa Fe XRT boasts 1.5 inches of extra ground clearance, thanks to larger tires. The XRT sits on 30 inches of Continental all-terrain tires that wrap 18-inch alloy wheels. Checking the box for the XRT trim also unlocks Santa Fe’s 4500-pound max towing capacity when properly equipped.

Pricing is still to be determined, but count on it rising from the current $30,085 base price. Replacing the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter I4 with the more powerful turbocharged variant is sure to affect the sticker price. Expect pricing details closer to the Santa Fe’s March arrival date.
