The Fiat Panda is a unique and iconic vehicle that represents the modern Italy. Unlike the popular Fiat 500 or any Ferrari, the Panda truly captures the essence of Italy with its pragmatic and boxy design. Even though it may not be as flashy or luxurious, the Panda has become a cultural phenomenon in Italy.

The Fiat Panda 4×4 Edizione Limitata, up for auction on Bring a Trailer, is a limited-edition model from 1985. This particular vehicle is from the final year of production for the first generation of the Panda. It has been refurbished in Bologna, Italy and then shipped to Connecticut in the United States.

The 4×4 version of the Panda was introduced in 1983 and is a scrappy little off-roader, despite its modest horsepower. The body shell of this version is slightly reinforced, and it comes with a complete four-wheel-drive system from Austrian specialist Steyr-Puch. It’s worth noting that Steyr-Puch is the same company responsible for building the original Mercedes-Benz G-wagen.

Under the hood of this Panda is a 965cc four-cylinder engine, which was rebuilt as part of the refurbishment process. Although it only produces 48 horsepower, it’s important to remember that these are Italian horsepowers, which may not go faster but allow for more dramatic hand gestures while driving.

One of the most surprising aspects of the Panda is its off-road capability. Despite its small size, it’s as rugged as Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime. This is the car equivalent of the 1988 movie “Twins,” where Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger play brothers with opposite physiques.

With just 38,000 miles on the clock, this Panda is in remarkable condition. The comprehensive refurbishment has left it looking brand new, with a clean and tidy appearance. It’s ready to tackle any muddy terrain and show off its off-road prowess.

In a world where many people lust after million-dollar hypercars that rarely see the open road, the Fiat Panda offers a refreshing alternative. Its boxy design, combined with its impressive off-road abilities, make it a true representation of an Italian car. This auction presents a unique opportunity to own a piece of Italianata and bring a little bit of Italy home.

The auction for this Fiat Panda 4×4 Edizione Limitata ends on September 14th. Don’t miss your chance to become the proud owner of this iconic Italian vehicle.
