Mercedes-Benz

has recently unveiled its new lineup of V-class cargo and passenger vans. These vans feature updated interior and exterior designs, including a redesigned instrument panel and an array of enhanced technology. However, it is highly unlikely that the new V-class will be available in the United States, as Mercedes has plans to discontinue the Metris model in the American market after the 2023 model year.

along with the rest of the mid-size van segment, will be discontinued in the United States after 2023. Despite the decline in demand in the American market, these vans are still popular in other markets. As a result, Mercedes has introduced a new series of V-class vans, catering to various needs and preferences. The lineup consists of the standard version, the electric EQV, and the Marco Polo van, designed for camping adventures.

One of the key updates in the new V-classes is the redesigned instrument clusters, accompanied by the latest version of Mercedes’s MBUX infotainment system. The standard V-class, Marco Polo, and EQV models are equipped with two 12.3-inch displays and a new center console that offers the option of a wireless charger. Mercedes has also enhanced the luxuriousness of these vans by adding features such as a remote-start function, a heated steering wheel, dimmed rear lighting for night driving, and 64-color ambient interior lighting.

the V-class now boasts a sharper body design. Certain trims of the van feature an LED light band surrounding the grille, which has been enlarged compared to previous models. The headlights and taillights have also been revised, with adaptive LED headlights being standard or optional depending on the trim level. Additionally, the vans are available in five new paint colors and offer newly designed 17-, 18-, and 19-inch wheels. The V-class Exclusive, known for its luxury, even comes with monoblock wheels and a stylish three-pointed-star hood ornament.

Mercedes-Benz states that these updates to the V-class serve as a transition towards an all-electric future. The company plans to introduce VAN.EA, a new EV-specific platform, in 2026 and onwards. Mercedes anticipates that by the end of the decade, more than 50 percent of its sales in both the private and commercial sectors will come from electric vans.

Although the new V-class vans offer impressive features and designs, it is unfortunate that they are not expected to be available in the United States. However, for customers in other markets, these vans provide a range of options to meet their cargo and passenger transportation needs. With its commitment to a greener future, Mercedes-Benz aims to lead the transition to electric vans and continue to innovate in the automotive industry.
